Maria
Treatment Coordinator
Maria joined our family in 2023. With a strong foundation in healthcare administration and a passion for patient care, her goal is to support our clinical team so they can focus on delivering exceptional care while maintaining the rhythm of the practice behind the scenes. She thrives in environments where precision and empathy go hand in hand. Whether she’s managing appointment flow, assisting with treatment plans, or helping patients navigate their orthodontic journey, she brings warmth to every interaction. Smiles start here — and she’s proud to help make them happen. Outside of work, she’s fueled by Pixie dust, planning her next trip to Disney with her children any chance she gets!
Jess
Financial Coordinator
Jessica has been the Treatment Coordinator for our office for a little over two years. She chose to work in orthodontics because she believes that a confident smile can transform lives, and she wanted to be part of a team dedicated to making that possible.
In her role, she combines her organizational skills with a passion for customer service, ensuring that every patient feels supported throughout their treatment journey. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and making memories with her friends and family.
Kim
Registered Dental Assistant
Kim has been assisting at Capan Orthodontics since 2012. After completing her studies at Fortis Institute, she received her RDA, CDA, and Dental Radiology License. She has happily found her home at Dr. Capan’s office and truly loves working here with her co-workers who have become family.
Her favorite part about her job is being part of creating beautiful, lifelong smiles for patients. “Our office is warm, inviting and fun! We strive to make every patient’s experience enjoyable while achieving the most amazing results. Someone will walk in as a new patient and end up leaving as part of our office family. It’s such an amazing thing to be a part of and it’s so rewarding to hear our patients tell us that they love coming here!”
When Kim is not at work, she loves to travel with her husband. She has been to over 10 countries, but her two favorites are Thailand and Egypt. She currently lives in her hometown of Clifton and loves spending time with her family and friends.
Brittney
Registered Dental Assistant
Brittney was raised in Teaneck, New Jersey, where she still proudly calls home. After graduating from Fortis Institute in the spring of 2019, she found her perfect fit at Capan Orthodontics just a month later. Brittney is CPR certified and holds her Dental Radiology License, CDA (Certified Dental Assistant), and RDA (Registered Dental Assistant). She has also earned certificates in Infection Control and General Chairside Assisting, which allow her to provide both safe and supportive care to every patient.
For Brittney, orthodontics is more than just straightening teeth — it’s about making a lasting impact. “I feel like I’m making a difference in each of our patients’ lives, and that’s so rewarding to me,” she shares. She loves that patients become like family throughout their orthodontic journey and always strives to bring positive energy, fun, and comfort to every visit.
One of her favorite things about working at Capan Orthodontics is the team. “We’re one big family that works hard together to get the job done,” Brittney says. Surrounded by people who are passionate about their work, she feels inspired to keep growing as an assistant and to continue helping patients achieve their best smiles.
Outside of the office, Brittney is a big movie lover! She especially enjoys weekend trips to the theater with her son, Cameron. With roots in the Caribbean through her mom and dad, she also loves traveling back to the islands to soak up family time and her cultural heritage.
Shellet
Clinical
Assistant
Shellet joined the Capan Orthodontics team in 2022 as a clinical assistant and brings a passion for learning something new every day. “I never pictured myself in this field, but it’s truly fulfilling seeing all of the happy smiles around the office, both from our patients and our team!”
In addition to her many clinical responsibilities, Shellet is our in-house expert when it comes to digital scanning. She uses advanced CAD-CAM technology to take precise 3D scans of our patients, helping Dr. Capan diagnose and create highly personalized treatment plans. These scans also allow us to simulate smile transformations and give patients a preview of their future results.
Thanks to this cutting-edge technology, we’ve said goodbye to the old-school, uncomfortable impression materials. Instead, we offer a modern and more comfortable experience from start to finish.
Shellet also leads our in-office orthodontic lab, where she fabricates custom retainers with care and precision. Outside the clinic, she’s a proud summer baby who loves thrifting and creating content. She’s also the face behind many of our fun and informative social media posts! She’s excited to continue growing with Capan Orthodontics and to keep sharing more behind-the-scenes moments with our amazing patients and community.

Blina joined the Capan Orthodontics team in 2024 as a clinical assistant. From the very beginning, she brought warmth, kindness, and support, making the learning process smooth and welcoming for new team members. Every day on the job has been an opportunity to grow and develop new skills, and Blina has been an important part of that experience.
Working alongside Dr. Capan has been equally rewarding. She is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but she also takes the time to give every patient the individualized care and attention they deserve. Her treatments are precise and effective, and her dedication to her patients sets the tone for the entire team.
Being part of this office has provided valuable experience with new technologies and with guiding patients through their treatment journeys. From explaining upcoming procedures in detail to helping patients feel comfortable and informed, the team works together to provide outstanding care.
Outside of work, Blina enjoys traveling and spending summers exploring new destinations. Her favorite places so far have been Bermuda and Turkey. She also loves discovering new restaurants with her friends.
Christiane
Clinical Assistant
Christiane (aka Kiki) started working at Capan Ortho in 2024! She has a Biology degree from Ramapo College and is working toward becoming a Physician Assistant. She loves working with kids and helping them be the best versions of themselves. She is involved in her local Armenian community and loves to discover the best places to eat in Bergen County!
Sima
Clinical Assistant
Sima was raised in Damascus, Syria, and later moved to the United States to pursue her education and passion for dentistry. She is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Rutgers University. Sima has been a proud member of the Capan Orthodontics team since 2022. She loves being part of Capan Orthodontics because of the supportive, family-like environment.
In addition to working as a clinical assistant, Sima is pursuing her dream of becoming a dentist. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her nieces and nephews, and staying active at the gym.
